Something Rotten!

THE RENT-AISSANCE
When one of the stars of the original cast of Rent, Adam Pascal, took over the lead role of William Shakespeare in Broadway’s Something Rotten, we knew there was an opportunity to capitalize on his notoriety. So, in the comedic spirit of the show, I produced this series of music videos for classic Rent songs, re-orchestrated on a lute, celebrating his induction to the Renaissance.

PAGE SIXTEENTH CENTURY
I conceived, wrote copy, and produced a series of parody Page Six paparazzi stories about William Shakespeare, exaggerating the bard’s unrivaled celebrity status.

12 DAYS OF ROTTEN
I conceived, wrote the copy, and edited this “12 Nights of Christmas” parody during the winter holidays to announce the upcoming launch of the national tour of Broadway's "Something Rotten!"

TREND INTERACTION
The silly and campy tone of the show allowed its social media presence to have a lot of fun. We took advantage of every opportunity to create amusing connections between the characters of the show and trending cultural moments.

We tapped into Sara Bareilles’s dedicated fan base with this ambush audience reaction video.

HOLIDAY PIE-DEAS
I produced this series of videos in partnership with Sara Lee Desserts to celebrate the holidays. These charming cooking videos featuring the cast of Broadway’s Waitress were posted to Sara Lee’s social media pages, reaching a new audience of dessert aficionados.


Kinky Boots

JUST PEE
The Broadway production of Kinky Boots, along with writers Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein, wanted to show support for the transgender community in the wake of North Carolina’s HB2 law. I produced this viral music video with rewritten lyrics to the musical’s finale, “Just Be.” Our high-heeled drag queens garnered an unprecedented digital reach of over 50 Million people.

I produced and wrote copy for this Buzzfeed listicle in which the cast of Broadway’s Cats recreated the internet’s favorite thing: cat GIFs.

BACKSTAGE PEEK
I produced the photoshoots and wrote the caption copy for this series of behind-the-scenes shots. The high-quality photos helped to brand Cats on Broadway as a luxury product, providing customers an elegant and exciting night at the theatre.

POPCORN FOR THE MOVIES THAT CHANGE US
I invented this theoretical popcorn brand on spec, creating everything from the concept to the content. The goal was to engage passionate movie-lovers with interactive and captivating graphics and videos. These days, consumers stream movies from the comfort of their own home far more than they go to the movie theatre. This is the snack brand they would remember to purchase every time they go to click “play.”

Every Broadway production creates a celebratory opening night red-carpet video in which their glamorous audience and star-studded cast praise the show in all its prestigious glory. The Play That Goes Wrong obviously had to put its farcical spin on that tradition.

I oversaw the social media strategy and copy for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s personal accounts to help promote his new album, his new memoir, and Jesus Christ Superstar Live on NBC. I captured content by accompanying Webber to all of his press appearances and ensured each post inhabited his brand’s tone of voice. The overall result augmented his fans’ experiences, boosted its visibility, and generated more brand awareness.

MEAN GIRLS DAY
Mean Girls is known for being one of the most quotable movies of its generation, from “whatever, I’m getting cheese fries” to “it’s October 3rd.” The Broadway musical celebrated that iconic date with the launch of its ticket sales and a cheese fry truck armed by Tina Fey herself.

When this intimate, lesser-known musical started its regional tour, we were challenged with selling it to middle America. This video featuring the cast and creators celebrates the Tony Winning musical’s deeply human universality.

To engage with new theatre fanbases, the Gentleman’s Guide To Love & Murder accounts would wish each new show a happy opening night with its own backhanded, murderous graphic. I wrote the cheeky copy and developed each graphic with our graphic designer.

To engage with new cities across the country, the Gentleman’s Guide To Love & Murder accounts posted a specialized, murderous graphic for each tour stop. Collaborating with our designer on the graphics, I wrote dozens of city-specific wisecracks.
